So probably that's why I get the 'The Update is not applicable to your computer' message - because maybe I already have it. But then, what is there do to about my headphones. I can hear sound coming out of them but it is all distorted and not reproduced in unison. Naruto mugen android. It sounds like it has been split into different channels and only some of the sound comes through. It is like a song that has been recorded in a studio with the voice recorded on a certain channel and the instruments on other channels; i can only hear the instruments and the voice is not heard into my headphones. Or for example when I play World of Warcraft some of the in-game sounds are not heard at all. Or when I play a video on youtube some of the voices and some of the background noises are not clearly reproduced or they're just missing. And I know that all of these sounds are there because they are all present when I use the regular 3.5 mm headphones or even with the headset from my smartphone. I tried using the USB headphones on a different Win 7 machine, on a Windows XP machine and the sound is still bad. I played with the settings for Audio in Win 7 and found that I can get some of the 'missing sounds' reproduced in the headphones, but at an intensity not even close to what it should be (like on the working headphones). That setting I change is this: from the Toolbar > R click on the Audio icopn > select 'Playback devices' > Properties (for the headphones in question) > Enhancements > Room Correction (I check that box; and some stuff I can hear but everything just sounds echo-y, like I'm in a big amphitheatre and some sounds get to me faster then others). The headphones have no physical damage and they worked before. My HDD crashed a few months ago and I reinstalled the OS and that's when it all started - with the new OS. They are pretty good (or maybe 'were'): GN Netcom 8110 (here's a link to view them: ) I tried my friend's USB headphones (Logitech) and they worked correctly. Thanks, Dani G.
